MAC Angels Foundation is pleased to welcome Denisse Ruiz LMSW, to its social work team, where she will help support individuals and families navigating the challenges of living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

 

Denisse earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies from Manhattan University and her Master of Social Work degree from Adelphi University. Denisse brings experience in counseling and providing compassionate, individualized support, and is committed to creating a supportive environment where individuals and families feel heard, respected, and empowered. Denisse joins fellow MAC Angels service team members Angela Espinoza LMSW and Marya Ugolnik LMSW.

 

Denisse’s journey into social work began over 16 years ago with a role at Good Shepherd Services where she first experienced the power of empathy in helping children and families navigate life’s challenges and the foster care system. She specializes in trauma-informed care, working with individuals with complex medical conditions, anxiety, and family systems therapy. In her spare time, Denisse enjoys spending time with her family, eating different foods, engaging with friends, going to concerts and traveling to different countries.
